Iran’s Intelligence Minister has warned of alleged American and Israeli attempts to target Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei or provoke internal unrest, according to reports carried by local media. Esmail Khatib, quoted by the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), said the Supreme Leader represents “the pillar” of the Iranian state, adding: “This is why the enemies seek to target him and carry out actions that threaten this axis of unity.” Khatib did not specify whether his remarks referred to a particular plot or incident.
