Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said Sunday disputes between Tehran and Washington are “insoluble,” vowing that Iran “will not succumb” to the US, Anadolu agency reported. “Enemies have failed to weaken Iran through war,” Khamenei said in statements carried by state media. He said there were “attempts to create division inside Iran,” without specifying the nature of these attempts or who was behind them. Responding to President Donald Trump’s calls for Iran to “surrender,” Khamenei said the Iranian people “are deeply offended by such a great insult and will stand with all its strength against those who harbour such a false expectation.” Trump had urged Tehran in June to agree to “unconditional surrender” to US demands, according to media reports. He stressed that he would not hesitate to take any decision or agreement that serves the interests of Syria and the region. The Government Media Office in Gaza has said that displacement to the southern governorates is almost impossible, as they cannot absorb 1.3 million people forcibly displaced from Gaza City. In a statement, the office warned: “With the Israeli occupation threatening to invade Gaza City, we caution against the worsening humanitarian disaster experienced by more than 2.4 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.” The office added: “Since the occupation announced that it would allow the entry of tents and shelter supplies, only around 10,000 tents have actually entered Gaza. This represents just 4 per cent of the urgent need for 250,000 tents and caravans, highlighting the manipulation and deliberate delays in meeting essential humanitarian requirements.” It pointed out that the deficit […]

Israel war of genocide is not about 7 October; it is not about freeing Israeli captives. It is, first and foremost, about preserving a racist Jewish governing coalition and seizing a historic opportunity while a submissive administration in Washington looks the other way. The aim is to advance a biblical expansionist project and create the conditions for “self” ethnic cleansing, as part of the permanent erasure of the Palestinian people from their homeland. As the UN officially declared a famine in Gaza City, Israel rejected  the ceasefire and threatened to flatten Gaza City “like Beit Hanoun.” On 11 July, Israeli Minister of War Israel Katz openly flaunted an aerial image of the razed cities of Rafah in the south and […]

On 29 January 2023, the world heard the haunting final call of six-year-old Hind Rajab before she was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza. Trapped in a car surrounded by the bodies of her relatives, Hind pleaded for help as an Israeli tank loomed nearby. Hours later, the two paramedics who had secured permission to rescue her, Yousef Zeino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun, were themselves killed when their ambulance was bombed. Hind Rajab was not just another casualty of war. She is Gaza’s Anne Frank — a child whose final moments testify to the brutality of our age. Just as Anne’s diary bore witness to Nazi persecution, Hind’s voice, cut short, records the atrocities committed under the banner of Zionism. Today, Israel’s actions in Gaza […]

Irish President Michael Higgins has called for the formation of a United Nations force to guarantee the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. In a press interview on Saturday with Ireland’s public broadcaster RTE, Higgins stressed the need to activate Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which allows the Secretary-General, with the approval of a certain number of General Assembly members, to establish such a force to secure aid access, even if the UN Security Council blocks it with a veto. He described what he called Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza as “a tragic period” in the world’s history.” “We are in an extraordinary moment where you have three members of the Israeli cabinet who are interested explicitly in illegality, […]
