Jordan will not be a “battleground” in any regional conflict or a launchpad for any military action against Iran, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi told his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on Monday, Anadolu reports. Safadi’s remarks came over a phone call during which the ministers discussed bilateral and regional issues, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said on US social media company X. Safadi said Amman will not allow any party to violate Jordan’s airspace or threaten its security and the safety of its citizens, “and will confront with all its capabilities any attempt to breach its airspace.” He reiterated Amman’s rejection of violating the sovereignty of states and highlighted the need to respect international law, according to the statement.
