US President Donald Trump said that the United States is closely monitoring the situation in Iran and has a large fleet heading there. He said the fleet could be used if necessary. Trump’s remarks came after he appeared to ease his threats of military action last week, saying he had received assurances that no executions of protesters would be carried out by Tehran. He also said that a 25 per cent tariff on any party dealing with Iran would come into force very soon.
