Iran on Sunday successfully launched three new satellites into space aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket in Russia’s Far East, Anadolu reports. The satellites – Kowsar 1.5, Paya, and Zafar-2 – represent the latest chapter in a series of Iranian satellite launches in recent years, many of which have been carried out with Russian cooperation. The Soyuz carrier also carried payloads from other countries, including Kuwait and Belarus. The Kowsar 1.5 satellite is an upgraded version of Iran’s previous remote-sensing platform, designed for high-resolution imaging with a focus on agricultural applications, according to Iranian officials.
